This makes it hard for you to get away from having that puff on a cigarette whenever the urge hits you. The nature of cigarettes makes it so you are dependent on them, not just physically but also psychologically. When smoking your brain gets used to the movement of your hand with the cigarette to you mouth, this action is something you need to overcome. You need to do something else to replace this and get your mouth busy. Perhaps you can chew gum or suck on some candy, anything in moderation to replace the cigarette to mouth action is good. As long as it is enjoyable and relaxing it will offer relief from the cigarette cravings.

Quitting is mind over matter. You have to overcome urges to grab a cigarette and light it up. All of the tips are aimed at overcoming these thoughts. It is not an easy task you have before you but if you are determined you are half way there.
