Baler is a machine used for material recycling facilities in industrial area to compresses items such as cardboard, plastic, paper or other shredded materials. In Agriculture, baler is used to compress a crop like straw or hay into bales and then binds them.

One of the most useful agriculture equipments used for harvesting hay is ‘hay baler’. Some crops are cut and gathered with the help of machine in order to create hay for the purpose of cattle feeding. Baler is such machinery that gathers such cut hay and compresses into round or square shape of bales which are quite easy to store and transport.

Hay balers are convenient to store and transport but they need to be cared. Small square bales weigh something between 18-32 kg and they should be kept in a safe place to protect it from snow and rain. On the contrary, large round bales can be kept outside in the farm. For it is round in shape, it lets rain run off the all sides not to get it rotten.

In the past, bales were thrown on the floor and their twines were removed manually. The haystack was dried and compacted into bales that had to be torn and tattered for use. Today, a bale shredder has come to replace this manual process of handling bale by its rotary cutting teeth. That is why most of the farmers prefer to have such bale shredders.

Balers are used in industries to compact byproducts or waste such as office paper. They normally compress the loaded materials. They are also used in recycling companies in order to reuse the items for the production in future. Balers are made of steel with hydraulic operation.

Baler is also used to compact items like plastics and metals. There are some compactors and baler used in industry in order to extract oils or liquids from metals. Since recycling becomes necessary in industries in order to reuse materials, baling facilities are very much in demand. For example, scrap metal is recycled into new sheet metal which is used in automobiles.
